“Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart” — Psalm 37:4
“It is good to love many things, for therein lies the true strength, and whosoever loves much performs much, and can accomplish much, and what is done in love is well done.” — Vincent van Gogh
“You can be in love with one thousand views and skylines and souls and minds at once. Don’t apologize for your burn, your passion, or your enthusiasm. Enthusiasm propels the world.” — Victoria Erickson
Today’s and yesterday’s messages may seem contradictory, however they go hand in hand. It is true that we will never be fully satisfied if we are living for the world now and not the one beyond. But it is similarly true that God gave us this life and yearns for us to find delight in it.
We don’t have to feel bogged down by the discouragement of the world, the critics and the skeptics that often leave us feeling like we can’t love all that we love. God is telling us to come to Him, be fulfilled by HIM and then HE will show us beautiful things. Even here on the earth, He will help you be fulfilled.
I don’t know about you, but this gives me a spring in my step. It makes me want to take in all the vibrant fall colors, paint like Van Gogh, view a thousand views, eat pumpkin pie, smile at every stranger I come across… the list goes on and on.
EEK. But first and foremost, it sparks the need to pray.
