“For now we see through a glass, darkly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; but then shall I know, even as also I am known.” — 1 Corinthians 13:12
“So fill your heart with what’s important and be done with all the rest” — La Dispute
“Take it easy, take it easy. Don’t let the sound of your own wheels drive you crazy. Lighten up while you still can” — Eagles
When people say “don’t sweat the little stuff” it makes it sound like that should be easy. But boy oh boy do we know it’s not. It’s much easier to get caught up in all the little things rather than focusing on the bigger picture. The bills, the fees, the annoyances and mundane tasks we must do, the planning of our day-to-day lives. It can take over all our thoughts.
But then we read how we are only seeing meaning through dark cloudy glass. One day, we will understand the bigger picture and see His glory face to face.
For now, He’s telling us not to get caught up in the pains of our daily lives, but to keep Him as our focus. Once we our confronted with the meaning of all of this, we will be blown away. He promises us, it’ll all be worth it. If we trust that that glory is real, why would we sweat the little things?
