Finding Your Rhythm

How do you hear and listen to God? How do you “walk to the beat of your own drum” while staying in rhythm with God’s?

Moreover, he said to me, “Son of man, all my words that I shall speak to you, receive in your heart and hear with your ears.” — Ezekiel 3:10

“If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away.” — Henry David Thoreau

“Let the beat of the drum move your wild soul” —Shikoba

We listen more carefully, unafraid of stepping back from the beat of the rest of the world, and taking time to find the right beat. We embrace our independent spirit, while accepting our total dependence on God. We stay in tandem with our God in order to fully understand our wild selves.
